Joanna Luo
Joanna Luo has loved music for as long as she can remember. At 5 years old, she took her first piano lesson—and fell in love with the piano. When her family moved to Houston, they discovered Kingwood Music School, where she received phenomenal musical training and caring mentorship throughout middle and high school. She won the international college-level gold pin in the National Piano Guild examinations every year in high school, won the college-level class of the KHMTA Piano Tournament, and attended the summer music festivals at Pensacola Christian College and University of Houston.
Joanna earned several music scholarships to study piano and graduated with honors from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music degree. In college, she enjoyed performing with various bands and ensembles, accompanying other instrumentalists, participating in the concerto competition, and winning the Undergraduate Church Music Award, among other accolades.
Joanna’s passion is sharing the joy of music. With 5 younger siblings, she had the privilege of teaching piano since 14 years old. She started playing for church since she was 12 years old and enjoys serving through music at camps and conventions. Joanna’s goal in teaching is to encourage a love of music and help students gain life lessons and skills as they become well-rounded musicians.
