Isabel Colina, piano
Isabel Colina was born into a musical family in Guatemala and began learning piano at the age of eight, before moving to the United States where she continued her musical education. She received scholarships to study piano at San Jacinto College and the University of Houston, where she completed a Bachelor of Music degree. For several years she also participated in the prestigious Summer Program at the Adamant Music School in Vermont where she studied with internationally renowned pianists.
Isabel was the first place winner of the Collegiate Division of the International Piano Recording Competition, and was subsequently featured in the Piano Guild Notes periodical. She gave a solo performance debut in New York City at The Loft, and she has since performed in many venues in Guatemala and across the United States.
Isabel is a member of the Music Honor Society, and is also the Kingwood-Humble representative for the National Piano Guild. She has been teaching at the Kingwood Music School since 1992, and her students benefit from her years of experience and her dedication to piano pedagogy.
