Chase DeMaster, guitar

Picture
Houstonia Magazine called his voice “captivating,” and Stereogum raved that “DeMaster exhibits a deft control of temperament, energy, and rhythm.”

No matter what you call it, Chase DeMaster creates music that pushes boundaries and mesmerizes with a unique charismatic charm. It’s this blend of forward-thinking music-making, reverence of the past, and irreverent love of fun that also makes Chase such an exceptional music educator. Rooted in traditional study––he graduated with an undergraduate degree of honors in Music Theory from the University of Houston’s acclaimed Moores School of Music as well as a Master’s in Music Education and Worship from Liberty University’s ––Chase has been instructing and innovating for more than a decade. Outstanding on guitar, bass, and keys, and a teacher of all three, he works with students of all ages at every level, from beginner to expert.

Chase is also an adjunct faculty member at LoneStar College Kingwood, and Tomball, where he teaches jazz guitar, and is the owner/operator of #veryjazzed, an eclectic record label producing and managing the rights and campaigns to over 100 releases. A subsidiary of Frenchkiss Records, distributed by The Orchard (Sony) and partnered with LA-based music sync companies, Dirty Laundry Music and Selected Works, the #veryjazzed label’s roster regularly accrues over 1M streams annually and in 2020 realized Netflix (Messiah, Trinkets, Grand Army) and Showtime (The L Word) synchronizations for it's artists. As a performing artist, Chase has toured regionally and nationally multiple times with children of pop, Deep Cuts, and Get a Life, and has graced stages at Carnegie Hall, FPSF, Day for Night, In Bloom Fest, MR Fest, and more. In 2019, Chase supported Aaron Senseman (Cademan’s Call) in Europe on guitar and backing vocals.

Locally, Chase can be heard weekly at Crosspoint Church in the West University area, where he’s played for ten years, as well as in the Paige Parker Band, and the Verdant Ensemble, both jazz combos with whom he regularly performs. Also active in the musical theater community, Chase has worked for companies including Queensbury Theatre, Stage Repertory Theater, Bayou City Theatrics, A.D. Players, and others.
