Bill Waller, guitar

Bill was born into a musical family, and became involved in singing and playing from his earliest
days. He took piano lessons and also played clarinet in school band.

When he was 13 his dad bought him a guitar while on a business trip to New York, and his life direction was settled.  During the folk music revival of the 1960’s he began singing and covering all the major groups of that era, and he was also an avid choral singer.

Bill attended Wichita State University and completed a Bachelor of Music Education degree. After teaching music for six years, he returned to Wichita State University and earned a Masters degree, also in Music Education.  During this time he studied guitar with renowned jazz guitarist Jerry Hahn.

Church music has always been an important part of Bill's life, and upon completing his Masters he moved into full-time church music , where for the next 30 years he had many opportunities to play and teach guitar and voice, as well as lead choirs of all age groups.

Bill has been teaching guitar and voice at Kingwood Music School since 2008.
